§ 10-21. Qualifications of the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney of the Municipal Court; Duties; Authorities; Compensation.

  • Any person appointed as the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney of the Municipal Court shall be a member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia and admitted to practice before the appellate courts of this state.

    In performing duties for the City of Hinesville, the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney of the Municipal Court shall abide by the applicable rules of professional conduct set forth by the State Bar of Georgia, as amended from time to time.

    The Assistant Prosecuting Attorney of the Municipal [Court] shall have all of the duties and authorities of the Prosecuting Attorney of the Municipal Court as outlined in chapter 10 of the Code of the City of Hinesville, Georgia.

    In conformance with O.C.G.A. § 15-18-97, the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney of the Municipal Court shall be compensated by the City of Hinesville as provided by local law or, in the absence of such local law, as provided by the Mayor and Council. The Assistant Prosecuting Attorney of the Municipal Court shall be entitled to be reimbursed for actual expenses incurred in the performance of his or her official duties in the same manner and rate as other municipal employees.
