§ 8. Voters.

  • Be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, that in all elections held under the Charter of the City of Hinesville, no person shall be allowed to vote who is not duly registered as hereinafter provided. Nor shall any person be allowed to vote in said election who has not reached the age of 18 years or who has not been a bona fide resident of said City for at least six months prior to said election and a resident of the State of Georgia for a period of 12 months.

The last sentence is superseded by O.C.G.A. § 21-2-216. The durational residency requirements therein are invalid. See Abbott v. Carter, 356 F. Supp. 280 (D.C. Ga. 1972).
